Mississippi River National Heritage Corridor Act of 1987 - Establishes the Mississippi River National Heritage Corridor, which includes Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Establishes the Mississippi River National Heritage Corridor Commission to prepare within two years a plan which includes an inventory and an assessment of the natural, economic, and historic resources of the Corridor. Requires the Commission to assist States within the Corridor and political subdivisions to preserve the values of the Corridor. Requires the Commission to collect and disseminate information related to the Corridor.

Directs the Commission to assist in the development of the Great River Road.

Requires the Commission to report biennially to the Secretary of the Interior and the chief executive officer of a Corridor State on the activities of the Commission.

Directs the Secretary to assist and review the Commission in its work.

Authorizes appropriations for FY 1989 through 1991.
